Go on, run River Song through the Universal Mary Sue Test. And while you're at it, run Sherlock through it as well. You know you want to. And then come back and give me a number. I know some of it is subjective, so I'm curious.

I pretended I was ACD and went with Canon Holmes as being written by Dr. Watson... and got a 36. ACD as Watson writes Holmes as a Gary Stu. This is hilarious! (Of course, I do imagine that he was the ORIGINAL Gary Stu. It's all of those descriptions about his hands and eyes... they really hiked up the points.)

It is a rather hilarious test. I don't think many characters can pass it. I got ridiculous scores for both Sherlock and the Doctor...

Well, I don't watch Doctor Who, so I couldn't take it for River, but I got 29 with Sherlock.

22-29
Some definite Sue-like tendancies here. A little polishing might be in order to put original fiction and RPG characters back into the balance, especially if Kirking is involved. Fanfiction characters should probably have some work done.

It's a bit of a hostile test - although funny-hostile - and if you manage not to be a Mary-Sue you get told you lack colour - how rude! *g*

The only OC I wrote at enough length to try the test did manage to pass it. Stephen Maturin, otoh, failed very very badly :-D

It is a hilarious test. I don't think many characters can pass it, actually...

Stephen Maturin! Bwahahaha! Oh, I'll have to try that one.
