Yeah, I think the 'speaking for all fans' justification is a standard fandom alarm bell. No-one has that privilege. Fans may share a love for a particular show / film / band whatever but more often than not are very different people otherwise. She certainly doesn't speak for me but then I know that her argument, which she's used in emails that found their way to me, is that members of the Supper Club aren't real fans because we didn't go on the last Sherlock Holmes walk? Excuse me? The Supper Club has a very international membership and those of us who do live in London have jobs. Unlike her we're not willing to go part time at work to dedicate more time to our fandom. o.0
